RTTM Community Center Detroit

RTTM Community Center

Mission

Dangerous environments and situations await our community, especially those in urban neighborhoods. There, the need for safe places is even greater. Our community center brings together people who inspire each other. Our Center provides a place where families are treated with dignity and avoid negative influences such as gang recruitment, violence, and drugs.

RTTM Community Center is a safe, welcoming place providing our community access and hope; and allow our community the opportunity to participate in academic and extracurricular activities.

The Que Blackout Theatre offers an intimate venue for live theatre, performance events, lectures, training, and workshops. Our Program Guide showcases various recreational opportunities and amenities to help our community stay healthy, keep fit and have fun! Covering everything from fine arts, sports, financial literacy, healthcare, and catering to residents in District 3 Detroit, we want to inspire families in Metro Detroit to stay active and be involved.

We always look for ways to connect with our community and love hearing from the amazing people who utilize our services and want to be a part of the Hope & Access Movement. If you have questions. We must find the answers. If you want more information about the RTTMCC, we would be glad to speak with you. Just click the link, and we will get back to you.

Meet Our Board

Services

We look to empower our community, socially and spiritually, providing outreach assistance to local families in need, inspiring all to obtain leadership roles in their community. We provide an inclusive society by providing an environmentally sound facility for arts, education, recreation, celebration, and locally based human services.

RTTM Community Center contributes to the identity of District 3. We strive to provide the community with more outlets, better access, and new opportunities to better themselves. Our success depends on our neighbors' health and well-being, so we sow into the community we serve. We look to work with other community leaders on projects to better serve Metro Detroit as a whole.
By offering new experiences and providing free and low-cost activities to the community, we help our residents stay active and engaged in bettering their lives and society.

Que Blackout

RTTM Community Centers largest project is Que Blackout. Our Executive Director, Alvin Lockett has a passion for young people and the arts. We were looking for a vehicle to show hope and access in Detroit. Media Arts offer so many incredible and fascinating opportunities for our residents. RTTM Community Center is a group of concerned residents whose goal is to improve their community by showcasing the opportunities available to the youths in Metro Detroit. Hope and access are two areas our community desperately needs, and we strive to provide both in abundance. Many residents feel neglected and uncared for; we aim to support those who feel left behind.

Many of the activities and programs we offer are a result of concerns from our community. The emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical health of the community falls on programs like ours. to quote Robert Kennedy, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
